Everyday Foundation Routine: Flawless Skin Mini-Tutorial on Instagram

People always ask me "What kind of foundation do you use?" "Do you use a beauty blender or a brush?" "How do you highlight and contour?" So I will be addressing some of those questions here. If you want to catch the mini-tutorial/visual follow me on Instagram @mijonsinterlude and catch it there!

1. I use different brands of foundation depending on the look I am trying to achieve. My most recent favorite was Bare Minerals liquid foundation in "Bare Almond" (which felt like a second skin) but in these photos I ventured back in time to one of my all time favorites and that's MAC Studiofix Fluid. Studiofix is has a buildable coverage and unlike the Bare Minerals doesn't slip off at the end of the day. I like to buy my foundation a shade darker because I like to look tan.

2. As of lately, I have been sticking to my beauty blender. My favorite at the moment is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I love it because it is the perfect size in comparison to my hand and after I wash it, it bounces right back to its original shape. I also like MAC's Flat Oval Foundation sponge, especially for blending out liquid concealers.

3. I mostly only highlight my entire face and then contour my nose if I'm in the mood. I do not contour my cheekbones because my face already has a natural contour there, which you can see in the picture below.

Products used for my Everyday Foundation Routine:

-Foundation: MAC Studiofix Fluid in NW43
-Concealer to highlight: MAC Studiofix Fluid Foundation in NW40
-Under eye concealer: Loreal True Match concealer in light/medium
-Setting powder: Covergirl Loose Mineral Powder in Dark
-Blush: MAC Blush in Raizin
-Under eye setting powder: Loreal True Match powder in sun beige
-Highlight- MAC Gold Deposit + Wet N' Wild: Rose Golden Goddess

Get Ready With Me Pictorial!

1) Fresh face
2) I use my MAC Spiked pencil to outline and fill in my brows.
3) I put LA Girls concealer in "warm honey" underneath my brows.
4) I used Urban Decay eyeshadow primer  underneath my shadow. I used my 28S Morphe palette along with Sketch by MAC.
5) I am in love with this Bare Minerals BareSkin foundation. I only got a sample to try it out and I'm in love! I'm definitely going to get the full size.
6) I highlighted with my LA Girls concealer in "warm honey"
7) I used my beauty blender in stippling motions to blend that out.
8) I set that with ELF HD powder mixed with Covergirls powder in translucent honey. I also used Ruby Kisses powder in Chestnut to give me a slight contour.
9) I blended that out with a fluffy brush from Morphe. I used my MAC blush in Raizin and my Gold Deposit mineralized Skinfinish for a highlight. I lined my eyes with a black liner on my waterline and a brown liner just beneath that.
10) I darkened my brows with my ABH Dipbrow in chocolate and set my eyeliner with a dark brown from my Morphe 28S palette.
11) I used Red Cherry individual lashes in short, medium and long with lashes on the bottom as well.
12) I finished everything with Diva lipstick by MAC

I hope you guys enjoyed this pictorial! Let me know if you have any questions about products I used!

Chic faux fur vest + Thanksgiving beatdown

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

My outfit was supposed to be something totally different, but when I was digging through my closet and saw this black sweater, I knew I had to pair it with boyfriend jeans and this pretty fur vest! Surprisingly this is my first fur vest, and I love it! Prior to this, I wasn't a huge fan if fur vests on myself because I feared looking bigger and bulky. That is absolutely not the case with this vest, if anything it's chic and playful! You could definitely wear this outfit with heels, tights, skinny jeans or a different color sweater. Have fun with this one ladies!

The black sweater, jeans and flats are from Torrid. The vest is from Forever21.

These are stills from a video I recorded wishing everyone a happy thanksgiving. My eyebrows are Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in chocolate and MAC Spiked pencil. On my eyes are Sketch, Embark, Beauty Marked and Woodwinked by MAC. Eyelashes are mine, they have MAC Plush lash mascara on them. My skin is Bareminerals Bareskin foundation; which I am soooooo in love with! It's so light weight and matches my skin tone to a "T". On my lips is Styled in Sepia by MAC. You guys will see this exact beat on my face throughout the winter! I am so in love with the smokey eye and muted lip. What do you guys think? What's your go to winter look?

La'Femme Boutique Live Makeup Tutorial

La'Femme Boutique in Bellflower had a fall look book fashion show this past Sunday and I got the opportunity to perform a live makeup demo in front of a room full of beautiful business women and entrepreneurs.  It was really a blessing to me and a great way to merge talents with women on the rise in my local community. The clothes at La'Femme are all very in for the fall and the shoes are AMAZING! If you're looking for a dress for the weekend or an oversized blazer to last you all Fall/ Winter, La'Femme is your one stop shop!

Here I am demonstrating how to achieve a nighttime smokey eye using the Morphe 28S palette and Sketch & Beauty Marked by MAC Cosmetics. Her eyebrows are Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Chocolate, on her lips are MAC Nightmoth & Cyber. I also used Red Cherry Demi-Wispy lashes.

And this is the finished product! My gorgeous model had the BEST dewy skin, and she was so sweet and cooperative. Thank you again La'Shanette! You were so sweet and amazing! How to get FREE Mac lipstick!

So guys, the other day I took a trip to MAC cosmetics to participate in their recycling program! MAC has a makeup recycling program called "Back To MAC Program". This program allows you to return 6 of MAC's primary packaging containers (anything glass, plastic, metal etc.) in exchange for a free MAC lipstick of your choice. Being that the lipstick is free, they cannot be returned or exchanged. I found out about this awesome exchange a while back and I just assumed it was a rumor of some sort. BUT, it's not and you guys know I was excited! Who doesn't love free stuff? Especially when it's makeup!!!!

I returned 15 items, only 12 of which could be recycled for 2 lipsticks. I took back 5 empty lipstick tubes, 1 blush, 1 studio fix fluid container, 3 eyeshadows, 1 studio tech and a mascara in exchange for MAC "Russian Red" and "Styled in Sepia" which are pictured above.

I went to my local MAC in the Lakewood mall which is inside of Macy's. You are also able to return to free standing stores. Just call ahead of time to ask! You may also return the items online.
